Where To Begin and What To Choose!
We have a lot of clients explain to us that they know they need a website, but they're not sure what to have or where to start. The easiest way to begin is to decide how you would prefer to promote your business online and what things you would see as being relevant. A lot of web design companies would feel comfortable providing a business with a website that is all image based with no real content, that in itself can be useful as having no website at all. The other point to bare in mind is that the content on the website has to be generated from somewhere. Have a look around and see what other people have constructed on similar topics or business types (try a google search for the industry or company type you represent and take some notes).
Don't automatically assume that flashy graphics and introduction animations will sell your business. The average internet user will spend less than 10 seconds on a website before deciding to read on or move on, if that ten seconds is spent watching an animation load then you have potentially lost a customer. Not because the animation was necessarily bad, but because that customer's internet connection is slower than their attention span. A good website can be your best salesman if the information is there to reflect your business, if not it's pointless having one.
